I am currently working as a Computer Programmer developing software using SQL Server 2000 and 2005. I do ASP programming for our web site, mostly when the web pages interface with the database. I am work with MS Access using Visual Basic for form display and database access. I also work directly with the databases performing tuning and other maintenance work and SQL programming. There are several SQL Servers for which I write synchronization and update programs.

In my last position, working in Test Engineering, I developed software using Visual Basic and Transact SQL (T-SQL) in conjunction with SQL Server. ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) and ODBC were used extensively. I also functioned as the SQL Server administrator. Among other tasks, I installed the server, set up the security, and maintained backups. I assisted other programmers with SQL Server connection problems and T-SQL statements. I wrote, tested, and executed stored procedures and Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages.

In addition to programming duties, I was in charge of the repair, maintenance, system administration, and user support of over 50 Solaris UNIX test stations and 25 Intel test stations. While setting up and designing test stations, I installed multiple operating systems (mostly NT and Sun UNIX) and set them up to communicate with the network. I built many personal computers (Intel and Sun) starting with a case and a motherboard. I can diagnose and repair most personal computer software and hardware malfunctions. I am good at installing, configuring, and maintaining just about any kind of software program, Relational Database Management (RDBM) program, or network configuration. I communicated regularly with users, in person and by telephone, providing support, problem solving, and repair for a wide variety of problems.

I am very capable in the use of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word; and experienced with the rest of the MS Office Suite (including VBA programming). Recently I received a Specialized Certificate in C Programming from UCSD. I can operate a Solaris UNIX computer and have written several UNIX shell scripts. You can see by my personal web site I have some familiarity with CSS, DHTML, and JavaScript.

I programmed in the Visual FoxPro Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) for a minimum of 2 years. I also have about 2 years database development experience using dBase II / III which is the original xBase programming language currently used in FoxPro.

As a small business owner and in the course of my education and other work experience I became familiar with accounting, business management processes and strategies, and supervision of others. My additional Associate degree in Business Administration also provides me with insight to business related programming.

I have performed the systems analysis and implementation of software database systems, a Software QA system, and a Software CM system. I have worked with computer users and management to organize, establish, and define software requirements and design. I am experienced in converting manual processes to automated database processes. I am familiar with object oriented design, multi-tier architectures, and user interfaces. I have worked independently and in teams.

It can be seen from my Résumé that I also have Software Quality Assurance (SQA) experience. I have worked on classified and non classified Government contracts. In my capacity as a Senior SQA Engineer I gained a great deal of experience in documentation, requirements analysis, software test design, test procedure development, system integration, and verification and validation. I have written and implemented SQA plans, Software Configuration Management (SCM) plans, and a multitude of hardware, software, and business related procedures.

I am not willing to relocate out of the San Diego area. I am willing to travel in a limited capacity.
